Livigno is a valley that stretches for more than 18 km and
belongs to the Province of Sondrio. Livigno is also called “Little Tibet“ as it
has similar temperatures and mountains (whose height can vary from 1816 m to
3000 m). It’s situated between two National Parks: the Stelvio and the Swiss
National Park. There is an artificial lake and a river called Spoel, which
crosses the valley and through Switzerland and Austria reaches the Inn, flows
into the Danube, thus reaching the Black Sea.
In winter (from November to May) the optimal snow conditions foster many winter
sports.
In summer (form June to September) Livigno shines in its vegetation, with
coniferous forests, huge meadows, big green pastures and uncontaminated places.
The landscape is ideal to walk among the woods, to relax along the little lakes,
to indulge in tranquillity and to enjoy a typical meal in a mountain hut.
